A demonstration is given to help students figure out the meaning of words through context, that is by looking at the rest of a sentence or paragraph and inferring what is meant. To teach word meaning consider (1) helping younger children create their own dictionaries or glossaries, and (2) helping them use resources provided by textbook publishers.
